Group hails FG’s decision to set up technical committee on multi-billion dollar integrated infrastructural project

Date:

The Tinubu Media Volunteers (TMV) has applauded the inauguration of a high-powered technical inter-ministerial committee to evaluate and fast-track an integrated gas, power, and high-speed rail project being promoted by De- Sadel Nigeria Limited as a good step in the right direction.

In a statement signed by its Chairman Chukwudi Enekwechi and Secretary Segun Ogedengbe, the company argued that it may end up as one of the most visionary public-private sector projects in recent years.

It said: “The project which is the first of its kind in the country is one of the most visionary private sector–driven infrastructure initiatives in Nigeria and West Africa as it seeks to combine gas monetisation, power generation, high-speed rail, digital infrastructure, and real estate development under a 40-year Public-Private-Partnership and renewable concession arrangement.

“We believe that this project is not only ambitious but it also demonstrates the federal government’s commitment to supporting credible private sector-driven investments capable of unlocking value across key sectors of the country’s economy.

“Such projects will also help to close infrastructure gaps, enhance productivity in the economy and stimulate long-term economic growth and development.

“Similarly, the project is in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu in enabling energy sufficiency, modern transportation infrastructure and general economic growth in the country.”

The group added that it will open thousands of employment opportunities for young Nigerian graduates and artisans.
