The Final act of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup 2025/26 will unfold at the Cairo International Stadium on Saturday night when Egyptian giants Zamalek SC and Algeria’s USM Alger in the Final of the Competition at 21h00 local time (18h00 GMT).
At stake is both the trophy – introduced last year – and a new record prize money of USD 4 Million – the biggest prize money in the history of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup history.
USM Alger travel to Cairo holding a narrow 1-0 advantage following a dramatic first-leg victory in Algiers last weekend, where Ahmed Khaldi converted a stoppage-time penalty that separates the two sides.
The result has left the final delicately balanced ahead of what promises to be another intense encounter between two of the continent’s most decorated clubs.
Zamalek must overturn the deficit in front of their home supporters if they are to add to their triumphs in 2019 and 2024 and lift the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup trophy for a third time.
USM Alger, meanwhile, are aiming to secure their second title in the competition after being crowned champions in 2023, and will take confidence from their disciplined performance in the first leg, as well as their strong recent record against Egyptian opposition.
With history, pride and major financial rewards on the line, African football now turns its attention to Cairo for what promises to be a compelling conclusion to the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup 2025/26 campaign.
